The MSc Aviation Management programme provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills required to lead and manage organisations within the dynamic global aviation sector. The Agile Strategic Decision-Making in Aviation module develops an understanding of decision-making processes, analysing business factors that influence agile, safe, and sustainable aviation operations while balancing objectives such as performance, costs, safety, and time constraints. Challenges and Opportunities in the Skies explores the rapidly changing aviation environment, examining issues including sustainability, digital disruption, political influences, innovation, technological developments, and climate change, enabling students to identify opportunities and respond effectively to industry challenges. Leadership in Aviation focuses on resilience, crisis management, and strategic leadership, helping students understand how aviation organisations adapt to uncertainty and external disruptions while developing their own professional leadership capabilities and action plans. The Passengers, Consumption and Culture module examines evolving consumer behaviour within aviation, exploring passenger expectations, airport experiences, commercial revenue generation, and strategic marketing practices in response to changing travel trends and technological advancements. Transformation in Aviation investigates the complexities of organisational change within a highly competitive industry, focusing on business transformation, emerging technologies, consumer behaviour, and long-term resilience strategies. Students also undertake Postgraduate Business Research Methods, developing expertise in research design, ethical considerations, data collection, analysis techniques, and dissertation planning. The programme culminates in an independent Dissertation project where students apply theoretical and practical knowledge to address real organisational issues within the aviation sector under academic supervision. Together, these modules provide graduates with expertise in strategic management, leadership, decision-making, research, and innovation, preparing them for senior careers in airlines, airports, aviation consultancy, aviation operations, policy development, and wider transport and tourism industries while equipping them to lead organisations through future industry challenges and opportunities.
