This course develops advanced management, business and creative industry skills for leadership roles within the games, animation and visual effects sectors. Through the Business Project, you apply your knowledge to a professional challenge while demonstrating independent thinking, reflective practice and continuous development. The programme strengthens your understanding of operations and finance management, exploring how organisations respond to contemporary challenges and manage internal controls, reporting and business performance in rapidly changing environments. Through Critical Business Inquiry, you develop strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, learning how to investigate real industry issues and create evidence-based solutions using qualitative and quantitative research methods. The Industry Research and Development module introduces the importance of innovation within games and visual effects companies, where you research technical and creative challenges and develop prototypes or proof-of-concept projects using advanced production techniques and workflows. Marketing for the Creative Industries develops expertise in audience analysis, creative entrepreneurship, digital innovation, intellectual property management and strategic marketing for sectors including games, animation, visual effects and digital media. The Virtual Production Management module provides knowledge of emerging technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality while developing skills in immersive production management, project planning, production pipelines, team coordination and client-focused delivery. Throughout the course, you gain experience applying business strategy and leadership principles to creative production environments and digital content ecosystems. Overall, the programme prepares graduates for management, production and leadership positions within game studios, animation companies, visual effects organisations and digital media businesses by combining strategic business knowledge with practical understanding of creative technologies and production processes.
