COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diagnostic Radiography course is structured over three years and is designed to progressively develop students' scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, and professional skills required for modern radiographic practice. During the first year, students establish a strong foundation in evidence-based healthcare, human physiology, professionalism, regional anatomy, and the fundamentals of radiographic practice. The second year builds on this knowledge by introducing advanced imaging physics, informatics, x-ray science and technology, ethical practice, and further clinical training while also preparing students for their research dissertation. In the final year, students focus on advanced radiographic practice, clinical image evaluation, leadership development, and service improvement skills that prepare them for professional healthcare environments. Students also complete an independent dissertation project to strengthen their research, analytical, and evidence-based practice abilities. Throughout the programme, radiographic practice modules run across all three years, ensuring continuous development of practical skills and clinical competence through placements and hands-on experience. The curriculum combines academic study with extensive clinical exposure to prepare graduates for registration as diagnostic radiographers and successful careers within healthcare settings.
