COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Forensics course begins by building a strong foundation in computer systems, cybersecurity, and investigative techniques. In the first year, students study Campus Network Design and Security, Digital Forensics, Intelligence and Digital Investigation, and Secure Computers and Networks, gaining essential knowledge of network protection, digital evidence handling, cyber investigations, and secure computing environments. During the second year, the course develops more advanced forensic skills through modules such as Internet Crime Investigation, Mobile Forensic Investigations, and Operating System Forensics, enabling students to investigate cybercrimes across online platforms, mobile devices, and operating systems while completing an Enterprise Project that strengthens teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Students also have the opportunity to undertake an optional work placement year, allowing them to gain valuable industry experience, enhance their professional skills, and apply academic knowledge in a real-world environment. In the final year, students complete a substantial Computing Project that demonstrates their technical and research capabilities while studying Digital Forensics: Crime Scene to Court, which focuses on the complete forensic investigation process from evidence collection to courtroom presentation. They also explore Emerging Technologies and Advanced Digital Forensics, examining the latest tools, techniques, and challenges in digital investigations. Throughout the programme, students progressively develop expertise in cybercrime investigation, forensic analysis, evidence preservation, digital security, and professional reporting, preparing them for careers in digital forensics, cybersecurity, law enforcement, and related technology fields. Modules offered may vary.
