COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Management Practice course is structured to develop professional managers through a combination of workplace learning and academic study. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in management through modules in Business Operations and Planning, Digital Transformation, Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, and Strategies for Work-Based Learning and Resilience. These modules develop an understanding of organisational operations, digital technologies, people management and personal resilience while encouraging students to apply learning directly to their workplace. In the second year, students enhance their managerial capabilities by studying Business Finance, Evidence-Based Decision Making, Planning and Managing Projects, and Sales and Marketing. These modules focus on financial management, data-driven decision making, project planning and effective marketing strategies, equipping students with practical skills required in modern organisations. In the final year, students explore advanced management topics through Dynamics of Organisational Change and Leading and Managing Others in the Workplace, gaining a deeper understanding of leadership, change management and organisational development. The programme concludes with a Professional Project, allowing students to undertake an in-depth workplace-based project that addresses a real organisational challenge and demonstrates the application of their knowledge and skills. Throughout the degree, students remain in employment and integrate academic concepts with professional practice, creating immediate value for their organisations while developing their own careers. The course prepares graduates for leadership and management positions across a wide range of sectors and provides the opportunity to pursue professional recognition through the Chartered Management Institute. By combining practical experience, academic learning and professional development, the programme equips students with the knowledge, confidence and strategic thinking required to become effective managers and future organisational leaders.
