COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business Management (Creative Industries) course at Teesside University combines business education with creative industry knowledge, preparing students to become future leaders in animation, media and digital entertainment. In the first year, students build strong foundations by studying Animation Principles, Business Enterprise, Responsible Leadership and The Future of Work, gaining an understanding of both creative processes and modern business practices. During the second year, students enhance their industry knowledge through modules such as Moviola, where they work on collaborative animation projects, Operating Globally, which explores international business environments, and Social Media Management, developing digital marketing and communication skills. The Professional Practice and Ethical AI Assisted Creativity module examines the responsible use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies within the creative industries while encouraging professional development and career planning. In the final year, students undertake a substantial Final Project that allows them to apply their knowledge to a real-world business or creative challenge. Narrative Design and Integration focuses on storytelling and content development across creative media, while Reimagining the Future of Business and Society encourages students to explore innovation, sustainability and the future direction of global industries. Throughout the degree, students work on live projects and interdisciplinary collaborations, gaining practical experience that reflects professional working environments.
