COURSE CURRICULUM

The MArch Architecture program is structured over two years, with a strong emphasis on design, research, and critical thinking. In Year 1, students engage in core modules such as Design Lab 1: Eco-Social Matters and Design Lab 2: Adaptive Architectures, which focus on developing innovative design approaches that address environmental and social challenges. These are supported by Praxis modules, including Retelling Histories and Theories and Prototyping Futures, which encourage students to explore architectural theory and experiment with forward-thinking ideas. All modules are assessed through coursework, allowing for continuous creative development. In Year 2, students advance their skills through Design Lab 3: Scenarios for Thesis and Practice and Design Lab 4: Expanding Architectural Ecologies, where they refine their individual design direction and prepare for professional practice. Additional modules such as Exploration Space: Developing Your Trajectory and Knowledge Space: Creative Methods for Research and Practice support independent research and the development of a personal architectural approach. The program maintains a coursework-based assessment structure throughout, emphasizing practical application and creative exploration. Overall, the course provides a cohesive blend of design innovation, theoretical understanding, and research skills, preparing students for advanced architectural practice and future professional opportunities.
