COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Sports Engineering with Artificial Intelligence program equips students with advanced technical knowledge and practical skills to address challenges in sport through engineering and AI applications. Core modules such as Applied Measurement in Sports Engineering provide students with the expertise to accurately capture, analyse, and interpret performance and equipment data, combining practical assessments with coursework to ensure applied competence. Modelling Mechanics of Sports Engineering focuses on understanding and simulating the mechanical behaviour of sports equipment and human movement, enabling students to optimise design and performance. Human Factors in Sports Engineering explores ergonomics, user interaction, and safety considerations, preparing students to create equipment and systems that enhance athlete performance while minimising risk. The Design and Innovation module encourages creativity and problem-solving, allowing students to develop novel solutions for real-world sports challenges. A major component of the program, the Applied Project in Sport and Physical Activity, enables students to integrate their learning in a substantial, hands-on project, applying engineering principles, AI techniques, and research skills to practical scenarios within sport or exercise contexts. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, analytical, and technical competencies while gaining experience in applied research, data analysis, and innovation.
