COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Design (Product) program equips students with the skills and knowledge to tackle complex challenges in product design through a creative, ethical, and research-informed approach. The program emphasizes the integration of conceptual thinking, practical skills, and professional reflection to develop well-rounded designers capable of responding to local, global, societal, and environmental issues. The Creative Design and Positionality module encourages students to explore their own design identity, critically reflecting on their practice and understanding their role within the broader design context. Methods for Research and Practice provides essential tools for investigating user needs, evaluating materials and processes, and applying evidence-based strategies to inform design decisions. In the Design Lab: Synthesis and Manifesto (Product) module, students bring together their learning in a comprehensive project, demonstrating innovation, technical proficiency, and the ability to produce meaningful design solutions.
