COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Design (Interior) course is designed to help students develop advanced creative and research skills to address modern challenges in interior and spatial design. It focuses on exploring how design can respond to social, cultural, and environmental issues in an ethical and innovative way. The program is structured around three core modules. Creative Design and Positionality allows students to establish their own design identity by reflecting on their creative influences, professional values, and the wider context of interior design practice. Methods for Research and Practice equips students with the tools and methodologies needed to conduct effective design research, enabling them to support their creative decisions with evidence and analysis. The Design Lab: Synthesis and Manifesto (Interior) module provides an opportunity to bring together research and practice through the development of a major design project that demonstrates originality, critical insight, and professional-level execution. Throughout the course, students collaborate in a dynamic and interdisciplinary studio environment, enhancing their ability to think critically and design responsibly. By the end of the program, graduates will be prepared for careers in interior design, spatial design, and other creative industries, ready to make a meaningful impact through innovative and sustainable design practice.
