COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB (Hons) Law program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of legal principles while developing practical skills essential for professional practice. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in areas such as criminal law, contract law, applied human rights, and legal practice, combining coursework, exams, and practical exercises to develop analytical, research, and communication skills. The second year focuses on specialized areas including land law, tort law, the law of trusts, and professional skills, with opportunities for study abroad programs that broaden international legal perspectives. Practical and coursework-based assessments reinforce real-world applications, preparing students for professional environments. The third year includes a sandwich placement, offering immersive experience in legal workplaces and enabling students to apply their knowledge in practical contexts. In the final year, students undertake professional practice experience and select from a wide range of elective modules such as commercial law, family law, employment law, intellectual property, international human rights, public international law, and sports law. These electives allow students to tailor their studies to specific interests while developing advanced expertise in both domestic and international legal systems. Throughout the program, emphasis on ethics, professional responsibility, and critical thinking ensures graduates are well-equipped for careers in law, policy, or related sectors, with the skills needed to navigate complex legal challenges globally.
