COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Sport Business Management program is a four-year course designed to prepare students for dynamic careers in the sports industry by combining theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world experience. In the first year, students establish foundational knowledge through modules such as Contemporary Issues in Sport Business Management, Introduction to Sport Business Management, Leadership and Management in Sport, and the Sport and Physical Activity Landscape, developing an understanding of sports organisations, management principles, and industry context. The second year builds on this foundation with modules including Finance in Sport, Sport Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Sport Marketing and Brands, and a range of elective options such as event management, sports facility simulation, and study abroad, allowing students to explore specialized areas and gain hands-on experience. The third year includes a sandwich placement, giving students practical industry exposure and the opportunity to apply their skills in professional settings. In the final year, students consolidate learning through the Independent Project in Sport and Physical Activity, International Strategic Management, and electives covering areas such as talent development, coaching, economics, sport psychology, performance analysis, nutrition, media, and sport data analytics. The program emphasizes leadership, innovation, communication, and strategic thinking, preparing graduates to succeed in sports management, marketing, event coordination, consultancy, and other professional roles within the global sports sector.
