COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Psychology program is a four-year British Psychological Society-accredited degree designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour, cognition, and emotion, while equipping them with the skills to apply psychology in real-world settings. In the first year, students establish foundational knowledge through modules such as Fundamentals in Psychology 1 and 2, Psychological Research and Design, and Psychology Practicals and Statistics, gaining essential skills in research, analysis, and experimental methods. The second year builds on this foundation with modules including Processes in Psychology, Psychology in Context, and Research Methods Training, alongside elective opportunities such as Applying Psychology, study abroad, or work placements, enabling students to explore applied aspects of the discipline and gain practical experience. The third year includes a sandwich placement, providing professional experience and exposure to real-world applications of psychological knowledge. In the fourth year, students consolidate their learning through modules such as Inclusive and Ethical Practice in Psychology and a Psychology Research Project, while choosing from a range of electives covering areas such as health psychology, neurodiversity, emotion, trauma, personality, neuroscience, and the psychology of animals. The program emphasizes critical thinking, ethical practice, research skills, and professional development, preparing graduates for diverse careers in psychology, healthcare, education, social services, and research, as well as further study at postgraduate level.
