COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Information Technology with Business Studies program develops students’ expertise in both technological and business domains, equipping them to manage IT solutions in modern organisations. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge in customers and markets, information systems analysis, technology and information analysis for business, and employability skills through organisation-based learning, combining coursework with practical experience to apply theory to real-world contexts. In the second year, the focus shifts to business analysis for enterprise systems, service operation and transition, introduction to cloud and emerging technologies, and project-based employability development, with opportunities for electives and study abroad to broaden international and professional perspectives. The third year incorporates a sandwich placement, allowing students to gain substantial hands-on experience within industry, applying their technical and business knowledge in professional environments. The final year emphasizes advanced capabilities through modules in applied business intelligence, business architecture, entrepreneurship and strategic management, and a dissertation that encourages independent research and problem-solving. Across the program, students develop a blend of analytical, technical, and strategic skills, enabling them to design, implement, and manage IT systems effectively within organisations, and preparing them for careers in IT management, business technology consulting, data analysis, enterprise systems, or further postgraduate study.
