COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Economics program equips students with the skills and knowledge to analyse economic issues, evaluate policy, and understand financial and business environments. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in economic theory and quantitative methods through modules in principles of micro and macroeconomics, maths for economics, finance for economics, and data analysis for economics and business. These modules focus on developing analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills essential for economic reasoning. In the second year, the curriculum deepens with economic analysis and policy, economics of risk and return, and introduction to econometrics, while offering elective modules that allow students to explore alternative perspectives in economics, banking and fintech, and fraud analytics. Opportunities for study abroad provide international experience and exposure to diverse economic contexts. The third year typically involves a professional placement, enabling students to apply their skills in real-world environments, gain practical experience, and develop professional competencies. In the final year, students engage with advanced issues in economics, applied econometrics, and behavioural economics, culminating in a consultancy project that integrates theory with practical application.
