COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Cyber Security with Forensics program is structured over four years, combining academic study with practical industry experience. In Year 1, students develop foundational knowledge through modules such as Computer Systems and Networks, Introduction to Cyber Security, Maths and Cryptography, Professionalism and Employability, and Software Development, with assessments mainly based on coursework and some exams. Year 2 builds on this foundation with more specialized subjects including Database Administration and Security, Digital Forensics Incident Response, Project Based Learning, and Secure Network Services and Administration, focusing on both coursework and practical skills. Year 3 offers a unique opportunity for an Undergraduate Sandwich Placement Applied Professional Diploma, allowing students to gain real-world industry experience and apply their learning in a professional setting. In Year 4, students advance their expertise through modules such as Advanced Cyber Forensics, Information Security Management, and a major Cyber Security and Networks project, all assessed through coursework and practical work. Additionally, students can choose from elective modules like Blockchain and IoT Security, Network Security, and Offensive Forensics to tailor their studies. Overall, the program provides a balanced mix of theory, hands-on practice, and industry exposure, preparing graduates for careers in cyber security and digital forensics.
