COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Construction Project Management program provides students with the knowledge and practical skills required to lead and manage construction projects in a dynamic, digital, and sustainable environment. In the first year, students develop a strong foundation in buildings and materials, digital surveying, project planning, the built environment, and sustainability, law, and economics, combining theoretical study with practical application. The second year builds on this foundation through modules in construction contract practice, construction technology and safety, project costing and management, and resilient built environments, equipping students with the technical expertise and management skills needed to oversee projects effectively. The third year includes an undergraduate sandwich placement, offering real-world experience that allows students to apply their learning in industry settings, develop professional competencies, and gain insight into workplace practices. In the final year, students focus on advanced planning and climate action retrofit projects, digital construction and management, research methods, and an independent research project, emphasizing strategic thinking, innovation, and sustainable practices. Throughout the course, students enhance their problem-solving, leadership, and project management capabilities, preparing them to navigate regulatory, financial, and environmental challenges while contributing to the delivery of complex and sustainable construction projects.
