COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in computing while developing advanced skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics. In the first year, students focus on core modules such as programming, databases and the web, mathematics for computer science, and software project development, ensuring a solid grounding in essential computing principles and practical problem-solving skills. The second year builds on this foundation with advanced programming, algorithms and data structures, and the first module in artificial intelligence and machine learning, complemented by professional software projects and opportunities for study abroad, offering students both technical expertise and global perspectives. In the third year, students engage in a sandwich placement, gaining valuable industry experience and applying their knowledge in real-world computing and AI contexts. The final year focuses on deepening expertise through advanced modules including artificial intelligence and machine learning 2, software architecture and design, contemporary software engineering, robotics, secure software engineering, and machine learning algorithms and heuristics, alongside a development project that emphasizes practical application of skills. Throughout the program, students cultivate analytical thinking, technical proficiency, and creativity, equipping them for careers in artificial intelligence, software development, data science, and robotics while preparing them to adapt to rapidly evolving technological challenges.
