COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Climate, Sustainability and Environmental Management program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to address global environmental challenges and the climate emergency. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules that explore sustainable development, climate change from deep time to the present, the impacts of the climate crisis, and the essential tools and skills for tackling complex environmental issues. The second year deepens this understanding with applied learning in climate change and sustainability, global climate emergency responses, fieldwork and GIS for analysing environmental challenges, and just transitions to a sustainable future, equipping students to integrate social and scientific perspectives. The third year includes a professional placement, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in real-world contexts, applying theoretical knowledge to practical challenges in sustainability, climate adaptation, and environmental management. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through an independent discovery project, alongside modules addressing low-carbon living, risk and hazard management, and nature recovery with sustainable resource management. Graduates of this program are prepared to pursue careers in environmental consultancy, policy and strategy, sustainability management, climate adaptation, and conservation, with the ability to design and implement evidence-based solutions that contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future.
