COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Biomedicine and Health Science program offers a comprehensive education that bridges human biology, public health, and professional scientific practice. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in life sciences, human reproduction, endocrinology, and epidemiology, alongside the development of essential professional skills for scientists. The curriculum balances theoretical learning with practical coursework to equip students with core laboratory and analytical abilities. In the second year, students deepen their understanding of immunology, microbiology, molecular and cellular biochemistry, and the physiology of health and disease, further enhancing professional competencies through applied and developmental skills modules. The third year provides a professional sandwich placement, allowing students to gain practical experience in clinical, research, or public health settings, applying their theoretical knowledge in real-world environments. In the final year, students engage with advanced topics such as therapeutics, personalised medicine, human nutrition, and specialised electives in genetics, neurobiology, pharmacology, applied biochemistry, and data science.
