COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Physiotherapy program is a three-year course designed to prepare students for professional registration as chartered physiotherapists, providing the knowledge, practical skills, and clinical experience necessary to promote health, wellbeing, and independence for individuals with diverse conditions. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge and skills through modules such as Collaboration for Individual and Community Wellbeing, Foundations of Physiotherapy Practice 1 and 2, Personal and Professional Development, and the first physiotherapy practice experience. This year focuses on understanding basic physiotherapy principles, movement science, and professional behaviors. The second year builds on this foundation, with modules including Assessing and Addressing Complexity in Practice, Developing Physiotherapy Practice 3 and 4, Evidence and Enquiry for Practice, and further practice experiences. Students gain experience in managing more complex patient needs, applying evidence-based approaches, and refining clinical reasoning and professional skills. The third year emphasizes leadership, advanced practice, and preparation for professional registration, with modules such as Complexity and Leadership in Professional Practice, Qualifying Physiotherapy Practice 5 and 6, and The Advancing Professional, alongside final clinical placements. Graduates are equipped to work in hospitals, community health services, and rehabilitation settings, delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care while making a meaningful impact on health outcomes and quality of life.
