COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Human Nutrition and Health program offers an in-depth exploration of the role of diet in maintaining and improving health, combining scientific knowledge with practical experience. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules covering applied academic skills, food choice, the fundamentals of food and nutrition, and physiology and biochemistry, integrating coursework with practical sessions to develop essential analytical and laboratory skills. The second year expands this knowledge, addressing applied nutrition for populations, policy and practice, nutrition and health in the digital age, and nutrition in health and disease, alongside personal and professional development, while offering opportunities for study abroad to gain global perspectives. In the final year, students undertake advanced projects including the food and nutrition consultancy challenge, independent research, and wellbeing service provision, with elective modules available in sports nutrition and global nutrition issues. This program equips graduates with critical scientific, analytical, and professional skills, preparing them for careers as registered nutritionists, in public health, healthcare, research, consultancy, or food industry roles, and provides a solid foundation for postgraduate study in nutrition and health sciences.
