COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Cyber Security with Forensics program is structured across three years, combining theoretical knowledge with practical assessment. In Year 1, students build foundational skills through modules such as Computer Systems and Networks, Introduction to Cyber Security, Maths and Cryptography, Professionalism and Employability, and Software Development. Assessments are mainly coursework-based, with some exams included to evaluate core understanding. In Year 2, the focus shifts to more specialized topics, including Database Administration and Security, Digital Forensics Incident Response, Project Based Learning, and Secure Network Services and Administration. These modules emphasize hands-on learning through coursework and practical assessments, preparing students to handle real-world cyber security scenarios. In Year 3, students advance their expertise with modules like Advanced Cyber Forensics, Information Security Management, and a major Cyber Security and Networks project. Alongside compulsory modules, students can choose electives such as Blockchain and IoT Security, Network Security, and Offensive Forensics, allowing them to tailor their learning to specific interests. Overall, the program uses a balanced mix of coursework, practical work, and exams to ensure students develop both technical skills and professional competence required for careers in cyber security and digital forensics.
