COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Honours) Chemistry program provides a comprehensive education in chemical sciences, combining theoretical understanding with practical laboratory experience. In the first year, students develop a solid foundation in core chemistry concepts, chemical analysis, applied topics, and professional skills essential for scientific practice, gaining hands-on experience through laboratory work and practical assessments. The second year builds on this foundation with in-depth study of inorganic, physical, materials, organic, and biosynthetic chemistry while further developing analytical, problem-solving, and professional skills. Students gain confidence in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scientific challenges, preparing them for advanced study and laboratory work. In the final year, students focus on advanced topics such as chemical synthesis, analytical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and chemistry for future global challenges, completing an independent research project that develops skills in experimental design, data interpretation, and scientific communication. Elective modules in data science and drug discovery allow for specialization, enabling students to align their studies with personal interests and career goals.
