COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng (Honours) Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering program provides a thorough grounding in the technical and professional skills required for careers in robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge through modules in Engineering Principles, Fundamentals of Analogue and Digital Electronics, Maths and Computational Methods, and Professional Engineering Practice. These modules equip students with core analytical, mathematical, and practical skills essential for engineering problem-solving. In the second year, the focus shifts to more applied learning, including Analogue and Digital Electronic Design, Control and Automation for Mechatronics, Mechanical Concepts and Mechatronics Systems Applications, and an Industrial Group Embedded System Project, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in designing and implementing mechatronic systems while working collaboratively on real-world challenges. In the final year, students engage with advanced topics such as Robotics, Automation, Machine Vision, Sensor Fusion, and Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things, alongside comprehensive project work in Implementation and Management and Scoping. Graduates of this program emerge with strong technical expertise, practical problem-solving skills, and professional experience, ready to contribute effectively in sectors including robotics, automation, smart manufacturing, and emerging technological industries.
