COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng (Honours) Aerospace Engineering degree provides students with a comprehensive education in the science, technology, and practice of air and space transportation, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. In the first year, students develop foundational skills through modules such as Aerospace Engineering Fundamentals, Materials, Manufacturing and Design for Transportation, Maths and Engineering Science for Transportation, and Sustainable Engineering and Interdisciplinary Practice, establishing a strong base in engineering principles, materials science, mathematics, and sustainable approaches. The second year builds on this foundation with Applied Thermodynamics, Aircraft Systems and Manufacturing, Numerical Methods and Applications, Structures, Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics, and Systems Modelling and Simulation, allowing students to deepen their understanding of aircraft performance, structural design, and computational modelling while applying these concepts in practical settings. In the final year, advanced modules such as Advanced Aerospace Engineering and Design, Aircraft Design and Simulation, Project: Implementation, and Project: Management and Scoping allow students to integrate knowledge from previous years, engage in design projects, and develop problem-solving, project management, and technical expertise. Graduates leave the program equipped with the skills, analytical abilities, and professional readiness to pursue careers in aerospace engineering, research and development, aviation, or postgraduate study.
