The BA (Honours) Interior Architecture and Design course offers a progressive and practice-based approach to developing creative, technical, and conceptual skills for designing interior spaces. In the first year, modules such as Interior Principles: Space, Form + Architecture and Interior Strategies: People + Place introduce students to the core foundations of spatial design, exploring how architectural form, materiality, and human experience shape interior environments. The second year focuses on applied design practice through modules like Interior Context: Eat + Sleep and Interior Practice: Work + Play, encouraging students to design for real-world settings that balance functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. The module Future Now: Collaboration in Action fosters teamwork and interdisciplinary engagement, while an optional Study Abroad – Creative Industries module provides global exposure to design cultures. In the third year, students gain professional experience through a sandwich placement, applying their skills in an industry environment. The final year emphasizes professional development and design innovation through Interior Exterior: Cultural Context and Interior Futures: Professional Pathways, where students refine their creative vision and produce a professional portfolio showcasing their design expertise. This structure prepares graduates to become forward-thinking designers ready for careers in interior architecture, spatial design, exhibition design, or further postgraduate study.
