COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Honours) Fashion Management and Communication program provides a comprehensive pathway for students to develop expertise in fashion management, communication, and industry practice. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through core modules such as Marketing Concepts: Analysing Brands and Strategies and Visual Methodologies: The Principles of Communicating Fashion, equipping them with essential skills in brand analysis, marketing strategy, and visual communication within the fashion context. The second year deepens this knowledge through Fashion Forecasting: Trends in Fashion and Lifestyle, Future Now: Collaboration in Action, and Industry Engagement: Innovating for Success, allowing students to understand emerging trends, collaborate creatively, and engage with professional practices. Elective modules, including Study Abroad opportunities, offer international exposure and a global perspective on fashion markets and practices. The third year incorporates an undergraduate sandwich placement, giving students practical, hands-on experience in fashion management, communication, or related professional environments, enhancing their employability and professional insight. In the final year, students complete two major projects: Contemporary Practice: Exploring Critical Content and Professional Identity: Creating a Professional Portfolio. These allow students to synthesise creative, managerial, and strategic skills while producing a professional portfolio that demonstrates their readiness to work in a fast-paced, innovative fashion industry. The program fosters critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and professional competence, preparing graduates for impactful careers in fashion communication, brand management, and related sectors.
