COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Honours) Digital Media Production program is a four-year degree that develops students’ skills in creating, designing, and producing content across multiple digital platforms, including film, animation, interactive media, web, apps, virtual reality, and games. In the first year, students build a foundation in Content Creation and Production, Creative Media Fundamentals, Digital Storytelling, and User Experience Design, gaining essential technical knowledge and creative skills while understanding the principles of engaging audiences. The second year expands these abilities with modules in Immersive Technologies, Interactive Realities, Photography and Video Production, and Working in Cultural, Media and Creative Industries, complemented by optional study abroad experiences to provide global perspectives and professional insight. The third year focuses on professional development through the Undergraduate Sandwich Placement Applied Professional Diploma, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in media industries and apply their learning in practical settings. In the fourth year, students engage in advanced projects such as Alternate Realities, Digital Media Futures, Digital Media Project Proposal, and Independent Project in Culture and Media, providing opportunities to specialise and demonstrate expertise in creative production. Throughout the program, students develop creativity, technical proficiency, problem-solving, project management, and collaborative skills, preparing them for careers in digital media production, animation, game design, interactive media, virtual reality, and related creative industries, while also laying the groundwork for postgraduate study.
