COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Honours) Game Art course offers a comprehensive learning journey that develops creative, technical, and professional skills essential for success in the games industry. In the first year, students are introduced to the fundamentals of game creation through modules such as Game Art Development 1, Game Art Production, Game Art Theory, and Game Project, focusing on visual design, production workflows, and conceptual understanding. The second year builds on these foundations with Art Direction for Games, Game Art Development 2, Game Art Pathways 1, and Interactive Realities, encouraging students to refine their artistic direction and explore specialist areas within game art. An optional Study Abroad – Creative Industries module provides international exposure and cultural experience. The final year focuses on advanced creative practice and project work through modules such as Alternate Realities, Game Art Pathways 2, Research and Development Proposal, and the Final Game Project, where students showcase their artistic and technical skills in a major independent production. This structured progression ensures graduates leave with a strong portfolio and the expertise needed for careers in game art, design, and related creative sectors.
