COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Honours) Film and TV Production program provides a thorough exploration of the theory, practice, and industry aspects of filmmaking and television production. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge through modules such as Approaches to Film Analysis, Film Poetics, Collaborative Film and TV Production, and Introduction to Film and TV, which develop analytical skills, creative techniques, and an understanding of narrative and visual storytelling. The second year focuses on practical and professional skills with modules including Industry Focus, Moving Image Project, Rights, Camera, Action, and Technical Arts, allowing students to refine their technical abilities while engaging with contemporary production practices. Elective opportunities and study abroad options further broaden students’ perspectives and exposure to global media environments.In the final year, students undertake substantial projects, including Creative Futures, Major Project Development, Major Project Production, and the Moving Image Research Project, combining research, creative practice, and technical expertise to produce professional-standard work. The program equips graduates with the skills, experience, and creative vision needed to pursue careers in film, television, digital media, and related sectors, while fostering critical thinking, innovation, and adaptability in a competitive industry.
