COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Honours) Animation program is structured over four years to provide a comprehensive education in animation, combining technical training, creative development, and professional experience. In the first year, students focus on foundational skills through modules such as Directing Story: Engaging Audiences and Doing Moving: Animation Principles in Motion, which introduce essential animation techniques, storytelling methods, and the principles of movement, assessed entirely through coursework. The second year builds on these skills with modules like Animator Elevator: Careers in Animation, Future Now: Collaboration in Action, and Re-Animator: Character in Motion, encouraging students to develop character animation, collaborative projects, and career-focused skills. Optional opportunities such as the Study Abroad module allow students to gain international exposure and broaden their creative perspectives. In the final year, students consolidate their learning with advanced modules including Beyond Imagination: Professional Animation Production and Pure Imagination: Professional Concept Development, focusing on professional-level projects, concept development, and portfolio creation. This structure ensures graduates leave the program with a versatile skill set, industry-ready experience, and the creative and technical expertise needed to pursue careers in animation, film, gaming, digital media, and other creative industries.
