COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Finance and Private Equity program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive and advanced understanding of finance while developing specialist expertise in private equity. The course begins by building a strong foundation in corporate finance, financial statement analysis and valuation, as well as investments and portfolio management, equipping students with the analytical and decision-making skills essential for navigating complex financial markets. Quantitative research methods and financial econometrics further strengthen the ability to interpret data, assess risks and evaluate financial performance in both local and global contexts. The program also covers international finance and economics, helping students understand how global economic forces influence financial strategies and investment decisions. A key focus lies in private equity, exploring the structure and frameworks of private equity and venture capital, and examining restructuring strategies, investment approaches and portfolio management within this specialised sector. Students gain an in-depth understanding of the private equity lifecycle, from fundraising and deal structuring to post-investment management and exit strategies. The dissertation provides an opportunity for independent research, enabling students to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to real-world financial and investment challenges, preparing them for careers in competitive finance and private equity industries.
