COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Data Science in Business is designed to equip students with the technical expertise and strategic insight required to apply data science in real-world business contexts. In Term 1, the program builds a strong foundation through modules such as Business Analytics, Consumer Intelligence, Data Visualisation and Storytelling, and Tools for Data Analysis, ensuring students develop the ability to interpret data and communicate insights effectively. Term 2 advances these skills by focusing on Coding, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning and AI for Business, giving students the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technologies and methods that drive innovation in today’s data-driven industries. The program culminates in Term 3, where students can tailor their learning through an Optional Capstone Module or a Professional Placement, allowing them to gain hands-on experience and apply theoretical knowledge in practice. Capstone options include a Consultancy Project, where students work directly with businesses on real challenges, or a Dissertation, which provides the chance to conduct independent research on a specialist area of interest. This structure ensures graduates leave with both technical proficiency and practical experience, preparing them for impactful careers in data science, business analytics, consultancy, and a wide range of industries leveraging AI and big data.
