COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA International Relations is designed to equip students with the analytical tools, theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to navigate today’s complex global environment. In the first term, students study War and Peace, which examines the causes, dynamics and resolution of conflicts, alongside Critical International Relations, which challenges conventional perspectives and encourages critical thinking about power, security and governance. The term also includes Masters Perspectives, providing interdisciplinary insights, and the option of a language or other elective to broaden cultural and academic horizons. In the second term, the focus shifts to applied learning through Global Thriving – Problem Solving in a Complex World, which develops practical approaches to tackling pressing international challenges, and Global (In)Justice, where students explore ethical questions, inequalities and contested notions of justice within the international system. Professional Perspectives, along with another option for a language or elective, further enhances employability and specialist expertise. The final term is dedicated to the Final Major Project, where students independently research and analyse a topic of their choice, demonstrating their ability to engage critically with international issues. This program prepares graduates for impactful careers in diplomacy, policy, NGOs, research or international organisations.
