COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Film Production and Marketing is a full-time program that combines creative filmmaking with the strategic skills needed to market and distribute films in today’s global industry. In the first term, students focus on understanding genre film, exploring how different genres shape storytelling and audience engagement, while also developing and pitching their own projects. They also benefit from Masters Perspectives sessions and can broaden their studies through a language or special elective. The second term shifts towards practice-based learning, with students preparing for and undertaking principal photography of their major film project, while also gaining hands-on experience in pre-production processes. This immersive stage ensures that they acquire the technical, creative and organisational skills essential for managing large-scale productions. In the final term, the focus moves to post-production, where students refine their film with a chosen specialism and develop advanced expertise in editing, sound, or visual effects. Alongside this, they gain critical insights into marketing and distribution, learning how to position their films in competitive markets and reach the right audiences. Supported by Professional Perspectives modules, the course prepares graduates to succeed as filmmakers, producers and creative marketers with both artistic vision and business acumen.
