COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Psychology degree is a three-year program designed to explore human thought, behaviour, and mental health from both traditional and contemporary perspectives, with an emphasis on practical application and critical reflection. In the first year, students build a foundation through modules such as Psychological Enquiry, Roots and Branches in Psychology, Origins of Psychology, and Psychology and Mental Health, alongside Exploring Industry and Entrepreneurship. These modules introduce core concepts, historical foundations, and key debates while encouraging students to consider psychology’s relevance to modern challenges. Students also select two modules from London Perspectives, Global Perspectives, or a range of language options, including Business English, Advanced Language for Professionals, and Advanced Spanish through Film, enhancing global awareness and communication skills. The second year develops applied and critical perspectives through modules such as Psychology in Industry, Psychology in Practice, and Psychology in Postmodernity. Experiential learning is central, with opportunities to engage in Entrepreneurial Challenge, Placement, or Industry Challenge modules, and the option to study abroad for international experience. The final year emphasizes professional skills and independent research with modules such as Psychological Literacy in Action, Psychological Interventions, and a two-part Major Project, while electives and language options provide further specialisation. Graduates leave with analytical, reflective, and applied skills suitable for diverse careers beyond psychology, including HR, marketing, and community roles.
