COURSE CURRICULUM

The Film and Screen Production degree is a three-year program designed to equip students with the creative, technical, and professional skills needed to succeed in the dynamic filmmaking industry. In the first year, students focus on foundational modules such as Film and Screen Production, Visual Storytelling, Production Skills, Post-production Skills, Visual Forms, and Exploring Industry and Entrepreneurship. These subjects introduce students to the essential techniques of filmmaking, including visual communication, editing, and production processes, while also providing insight into the broader industry context. Students can also choose two modules from London Perspectives, Global Perspectives, or language options, such as Advanced Language for Professionals, Business English, Advanced Business English, and Advanced Spanish through Film, enhancing both global awareness and communication skills. The second year advances to more specialized subjects, including Directing for the Screen, Narrative Forms, and Developing for Market, while students have the opportunity to participate in experiential learning through Entrepreneurial Challenge, Placement, or Industry Challenge modules, and may also study abroad. In the final year, students focus on short film production, exploring both creative and market-oriented aspects, alongside a two-part Major Project that consolidates their learning. Special electives and language modules continue to offer flexibility, ensuring students graduate with a strong portfolio, industry-ready skills, and the ability to pursue diverse careers across filmmaking and media production.
