COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fashion Design degree program is structured over three years to develop both creative and practical skills required to succeed in the fashion industry. In the first year, students focus on foundational subjects such as Fashion Design, Pattern and Construction I and II, Art, Culture and Fashion Design, and Creative Fashion Design Practice, alongside Exploring Industry and Entrepreneurship. These modules introduce students to essential techniques in pattern cutting, garment construction, and conceptual design while fostering an understanding of the cultural and artistic context of fashion. Students also have the opportunity to choose two modules from London Perspectives, Global Perspectives, or a variety of language options, including Advanced Language for Professionals, Business English, Advanced Business English, and Advanced Spanish through Film, allowing them to broaden their skills and global perspective. In the second year, the program advances to Industry Design in Practice, Design Studio in Practice, and Deconstruction Theory in Practice, providing hands-on experience and deeper exploration of professional techniques. Students may also participate in experiential modules such as Entrepreneurial Challenge, Placement, or Industry Challenge, and have the option to study abroad. The third year emphasizes product development, professional portfolio creation, and a two-part Major Project, enabling students to produce a cohesive body of work that showcases their skills, creativity, and industry readiness. Electives and language modules continue to offer flexibility and specialization throughout the program.
