In the first year, students develop foundational skills in textiles, digital design, and the latest industry software and technologies. There is a strong emphasis on understanding fashion identity and developing a unique design direction. Modules include research, design, silhouette exploration, and professional life practice, helping students begin contextual studies and refine their creative thinking.In the second year, the course encourages deeper creative exploration and collaborative practice. Students build a skills-based portfolio and start solidifying ideas for their signature pieces and personal brand. Modules focus on innovation, contemporary tailoring, and collaboration, with an integrated work-based learning component. Those on the Digital Technology for Fashion pathway follow similar modules, tailored to digital applications. This year is essential in bridging classroom learning with real-world experiences through industry placements, equipping students with practical insights into fashion production and business.The final year allows students to consolidate their learning through a self-directed major design project, culminating in a collection ready for exhibition or runway presentation. They are also required to complete a dissertation showcasing their contextual understanding of fashion. Students refine their industry-ready portfolios and are encouraged to enter external competitions. The Digital Technology for Fashion pathway continues with specialised modules in digital prototyping and portfolio development. By the end of the course, graduates are equipped with a robust skillset, a strong personal identity as designers, and a compelling portfolio that reflects their readiness to enter the global fashion industry.
