COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Occupational Therapy (Pre-registration) prepares you for a rewarding healthcare career helping people of all ages improve their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life. Accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, the course combines academic study with extensive professional placements, allowing you to qualify and register as an occupational therapist in the UK. Throughout the program, you’ll study the foundations of occupational therapy, including anatomy, physiology, therapeutic processes, occupational participation, leadership in health and social care, and research methods. You’ll learn how to support individuals with physical disabilities, mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and long-term health challenges across different stages of life. The course also develops critical thinking, evidence-based practice, communication, and professional reasoning skills essential for clinical practice. A major feature of the program is the supervised placements, including 6-week, 10-week, and 12-week practice experiences in health and social care settings, where you’ll work directly with clients under professional guidance. Alongside your dissertation or service improvement project, these placements help you connect theory with practice and build confidence for employment in hospitals, community services, rehabilitation, mental health, education, and social care settings.
