COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc International Hotel and Tourism Management program develops advanced knowledge and leadership skills for managing people, operations, and customer experiences in the global hospitality and tourism industry. Core modules focus on managing international hotel employees, with an emphasis on linking people management to business strategy, and addressing cultural diversity, equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace. Students also study digital marketing and consumer experience, learning how digital tools and omnichannel strategies are used to engage global audiences in tourism, hospitality, and events. The global visitor economy module provides an understanding of how tourism, hospitality, and events sectors operate together in modern societies. Research Methods prepares students for high-quality academic and industry research, supporting evidence-based decision-making. Mentoring and leadership development strengthens leadership theory and professional practice, supported by industry mentoring through the Bacchus program. Optional modules allow students to specialise in areas such as dark tourism, sustainable event planning, global events and their societal impacts, revenue management, financial management, or hospitality operations using business simulation tools. These options help students tailor the course to their career interests. The program concludes with a Research Project, either a dissertation or client-based project, enabling students to apply research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to a real-world hospitality or tourism issue, preparing them for leadership roles in the industry.
