COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA in Education focuses on advanced professional development for educators, combining flexible blended learning with term-based study, workshops, and digital resources. Students join a community of experienced practitioners and explore research methods, leadership, inclusion, sustainability, and contemporary educational challenges. Core study builds expertise in research approaches and supports a major dissertation project that develops critical analysis and evidence-based practice. Optional modules include education dilemmas, digital learning, creative pedagogy, inclusive curriculum, SEND, SEMH, childhood and youth, and sustainable education systems. The course emphasises leadership for change across schools and communities, encouraging reflective practice and professional growth. Students examine global perspectives and apply theory to real-world educational settings, including digital environments and alternative learning spaces. Research training prepares learners for advanced inquiry and policy evaluation. The program culminates in a substantial dissertation demonstrating expertise in chosen specialisms within education practice and theory. The program also develops skills in collaboration, communication and critical reflection supporting career progression in teaching leadership and research roles. Students engage with debates around equity, mental health, inclusion and educational policy reform across diverse contexts while strengthening practical professional expertise through applied projects and workplace learning opportunities.
