COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc International Hospitality and Tourism Management program develops skills in analysing, managing and improving global hospitality, tourism and events organisations, with a strong focus on practical experience, digital transformation and sustainability. In Year 1, students build foundations in the experience economy, global industry contexts, management principles, marketing, finance basics and delivering customer experiences alongside academic skills and optional introductory business modules. Year 2 deepens knowledge through modules in people management, revenue and financial essentials, marketing and digital transformation, research methods, destination development and data-driven decision making supported by employability preparation and optional study in international business, sustainability, consumer behaviour and events design. Students also explore social, cultural and ethical dimensions of tourism including celebratory events and inclusive practice. In Year 3, students focus on leadership, strategic management and applied research through a major dissertation or research project alongside modules on tourism impact, business analytics, ethics, financial decision making and entrepreneurship. Optional advanced topics include hospitality operations optimisation, international business strategy, food and culture, creative communications and work-based learning. Across the degree students engage with industry placements preparing them for careers in hotels tourism boards events management destination development and service sector leadership roles in a rapidly changing global economy.
