COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Information Technology for Business program combines technical computing knowledge with business and management skills to prepare students for careers in the digital and corporate sectors. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation in programming, computer science applications, digital technologies, mathematics for business, entrepreneurship, and international business management. These modules introduce key concepts in software development, networking, cybersecurity, data handling, innovation, and business decision-making while developing analytical and employability skills. In Year 2, students gain more specialised technical expertise through modules such as applied software engineering, databases, business intelligence programming, web application development, human-computer interaction, foundations of security, and information management for business. They also explore enterprise engineering and entrepreneurial innovation, applying technical and business concepts to practical projects. Year 3 focuses on advanced industry-relevant topics and independent learning. Students complete a supervised computing project, work with real-world data sets in data analytics, and study software project management, business ethics, disruptive business innovation, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. The course emphasises practical experience, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving throughout all years. By integrating computing with business strategy and management, the program equips graduates with the technical, analytical, and professional skills required for careers in software development, cybersecurity, business intelligence, project management, and digital transformation across a wide range of industries.
