COURSE CURRICULUM

This BSc in Economics, Finance and International Business develops analytical, quantitative and applied skills to understand how economies, firms and global markets interact. Year one builds foundations in microeconomics, macroeconomics, business, sustainability, and quantitative methods, alongside employability skills and global labour market perspectives. Year two advances theory in micro and macroeconomics, international trade and finance, international business strategy, econometrics, and corporate finance, with options in labour markets, innovation, and financial markets using Bloomberg Terminal training. Year three focuses on global challenges, contemporary economic and financial issues, behavioural and environmental economics, policy analysis, and advanced econometrics or finance, culminating in optional specialisations and applied research. The degree prepares graduates for careers in economics, finance, consulting, policy, and international business through strong analytical thinking, data skills, and real-world application. Emphasis is placed on sustainability, digital transformation, and ethical decision-making, with opportunities for placements, research projects, and data-driven problem solving in real economic and financial contexts. Students also gain practical exposure to international markets, policy debates, and emerging technologies including AI and econometric modelling, supporting adaptability in a rapidly changing global economy and enhancing employability across public and private sectors worldwide, with strong industry relevance and academic rigour throughout all three years together.
