COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Media Production BSc (Hons) develops creative, technical, and professional skills for careers in film, television, broadcasting, immersive media, and digital storytelling. In the first year, students build a foundation in technical production, media narratives, post-production, and storytelling through practical projects involving camerawork, editing, audio production, visual effects, and digital short films. They learn to work collaboratively while developing analytical and creative thinking skills. In the second year, the course focuses on advanced production techniques, including visual and special effects, drama production, live broadcasting, and working on real-world client briefs. Students gain experience in scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, motion capture, CGI, and professional industry practices while strengthening teamwork and communication abilities. Optional placement opportunities also allow students to gain valuable work experience within the creative industries. In the final year, students specialise further through advanced production training, immersive storytelling, virtual worlds, and creative media enterprise projects. They explore technologies such as VR, AR, XR, motion capture, and broadcast television production while developing leadership, research, and critical analysis skills. The course concludes with a major self-directed final production portfolio where students showcase their technical expertise, creativity, professionalism, and collaborative abilities.
