COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biodiversity and Wildlife Conservation program provides students with the scientific knowledge and practical skills needed to address global environmental and wildlife conservation challenges. In the first year, students build strong foundations in cell biology, genetics, biodiversity, ecology, quantitative skills, scientific communication, and sustainability issues such as climate change, overfishing, plastics, and habitat destruction. Field courses develop species identification, ecological surveying, and research methods. In the second year, students explore threatened species conservation, animal behaviour, environmental change, data analysis, and conservation fieldwork, while gaining practical experience with protected species legislation and research techniques. Optional modules allow further study in areas such as GIS, genetics, earth systems, and plant science. The final year focuses on advanced conservation practice, professional skills, environmental consultancy, ecological interpretation, and independent scientific research. Students complete a major research project while developing expertise in data analysis, field techniques, environmental management, and communication. The course combines laboratory learning, residential fieldwork, and real-world consultancy projects to prepare graduates for careers in wildlife conservation, ecology, environmental consultancy, research, and sustainability roles worldwide.
