COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence program provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in programming, machine learning, robotics, cloud computing, computer vision, cybersecurity, and intelligent systems. In the first year, students build strong foundations in computer science, mathematics, object-oriented programming, professional programming tools, and software development. The second year develops deeper expertise in artificial intelligence, software engineering, data structures, computation theory, cybersecurity, and enterprise innovation, while also introducing students to probabilistic reasoning and advanced AI concepts. Students gain practical experience through coding projects, algorithm design, testing, and the development of IT-based business ideas. An optional industry placement year allows students to gain valuable professional experience with organisations such as IBM, Microsoft, and PepsiCo. In the final year, students specialise in cutting-edge areas including machine learning, deep learning, machine vision, cloud computing, Internet of Things, virtual reality, robotics, and ethical applications of AI. A major individual computing project enables students to apply their skills to a real-world problem in an area of personal interest. Throughout the course, students develop analytical thinking, teamwork, creativity, and technical problem-solving abilities while exploring the ethical and societal impacts of artificial intelligence. Graduates are well prepared for careers in AI development, software engineering, robotics, cybersecurity, data science, and emerging technology industries.
