COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Marketing and Events Management degree combines marketing theory with practical events planning to prepare students for careers in dynamic industries such as tourism, hospitality, and large-scale event production. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through modules covering digital marketing principles, ethical and sustainable marketing, consumer-focused experience design, and the fundamentals of delivering and planning events. They also develop academic, professional, and industry awareness skills through experiential learning and case studies from the experience economy. In the second year, the focus shifts toward more applied and strategic learning, including consumer behaviour, digital transformation, research methods, and managing live sustainable events. Students gain hands-on experience in developing marketing campaigns, analysing brands, and understanding omnichannel retailing, while also preparing for placements or industry experience. Optional modules allow exploration of areas such as influencer marketing, brand management, and international business. In the final year, students undertake advanced study through a major research project, strategic marketing management, and professional practice modules focused on employability and industry engagement. They also examine current trends and issues in events management and marketing, with optional modules covering leadership, digital marketing futures, and work-based learning. Across all years, the course emphasises real-world experience, sustainability, digital skills, and industry engagement, helping graduates become confident professionals ready for careers in marketing and events management globally.
